Elena from Khabarovsk

Greetings to all lovers of Northern Cyprus, especially those who are thinking about moving, but for some reason cannot decide to take this step!

My name is Elena, I am from the city of Khabarovsk. I would like to share with you my impressions and vision of a small but very hospitable country – Northern Cyprus. And, of course, to express my respect and say a huge thank you to the Program for Assistance to the Resettlement of Compatriots to Northern Cyprus!

My acquaintance with this amazing family began in October 2020. Thinking about moving, I came across an article by Ilya Shestakov about Northern Cyprus on Instagram. Without thinking twice, I immediately subscribed and began reading the newsletter that came to my e-mail. Already in December, I contacted Ilya via Skype, and in January 2021, I had already signed a contract for the purchase of an apartment in the “Russian Quarter”. I had no doubt that something could be wrong here, that they could deceive me. When talking to Ilya on Skype, I never once thought about it, he is such a sincere person.

My trip to Northern Cyprus took place only a year later – in September 2021 (the pandemic made its own adjustments), which I am incredibly happy about (I had never been to Northern Cyprus before).

I arrived at Ercan Airport on September 12, 2021. The entry procedure turned out to be quite confusing and lengthy, since Russia was in the red zone at that time, and it was necessary to spend 5 days in quarantine, and for this it was necessary to connect the necessary programs, and get various QR codes for the bracelet, and much more. And here I want to express words of gratitude and immeasurable love to Olga Shestakova for full support through the entry procedure into the country. Olechka, thank you very much!

5 days in quarantine, in an apartment, with a gorgeous terrace with sun loungers, on one side the Mediterranean Sea, which I love very much, on the other – the majestic mountains of Northern Cyprus, kindly provided by the Resettlement Assistance Program, beyond all praise (and absolutely free, with a full refrigerator of all sorts of goodies).

I had a 100% rest there and, as I wrote on my Instagram, I was ready to spend 10 days in such a quarantine)). After the quarantine, it was necessary to remove the bracelet and do a PCR test, and again the Assistance Program managers came to the rescue. Olechka and Dasha, thank you very much for messing around with me)).

And then the procedure of drawing up the contract in the developer’s office, already with wet seals and all the signatures, a notary with the preparation of documents and countless excursions: the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, the Ruins of the Greek Church of St. George, Famagusta Castle or Othello Castle, St. Hilarion Castle, Bellapais Abbey, a multi-level village high in the Karmi Mountains, and much more. And everywhere I was accompanied by the managers of the Assistance Program. Olechka, Dasha, I love you!

And the unforgettable dinner in the family Cypriot restaurant Eminem, where Ilya invited us, is beyond all praise!

To say that I fell in love with Northern Cyprus is to say nothing. If earlier I was going to wait until the construction of my apartment was completed (delivery in November 2022 + 4 months, i.e. March 2023), then after my trip (I stayed in Northern Cyprus from September 12 to October 12, 2021), I firmly decided to move in the summer of 2022, without waiting for the end of construction.

I work at a university and cannot leave students in the middle of the semester, I am a responsible person)) otherwise I would have left even earlier).

What attracted me most was the safety in everything, the friendliness of the people, everyone smiles, no rudeness! To cross the road with a stream of cars, it is enough to go to the edge, raise your hand and that’s it, the cars immediately stop and let you through, mind you with a smile), a variety of fruits, the sea, the sun, what else do you need!

I will never tire of thanking and declaring my love to the Assistance Program, Olga and Ilya Shestakov, for their attention, for their enormous help in solving all issues, for documentary support, for their sincerity, for their honesty, for their friendship!

Wait for me, Northern Cyprus, I’m coming!!!

If anyone has any questions or wants to chat, find out something that I missed, first-hand, so to speak, I’m always glad!!!

See you in Northern Cyprus!
