Dear friends!
I want to share our New Year’s trip, I will try to be brief 😉
Thanks to the general group of the Russian Quarter (RC) in Viber and Skype, we very quickly found out the necessary information about the issues of interest to us (road, car rental, attractions), and most importantly, we agreed with the neighbors about meeting (very late) from the airport. We were even offered to stay and visit!!!! To plunge into the life of the Russian Quarter is the height of dreams for us, who are 1000 km away and participate in the life of the RC only remotely.
Vasily Dyachkov!!! A special bow and gratitude. The view from the bedroom window of your townhouse is simply indescribable: every morning the mountains were different!!! I saw them even under the snow!!!
In general, the relationships between neighbors in the Golden Fleece, in which mutual assistance, openness, simplicity, honesty prevail, created an indescribable ease of communication. The feeling when meeting each resident of the Golden Fleece reminded us of meeting an old good friend.
Thanks to the neighbors, in 5 days we did and saw as much as we would have explored and learned for months! We visited the local school and kindergarten, visited expensive and cheap stores, climbed around the ruins that amaze with their secrets, talked with the director of the State Agrarian University during a tour of the Alma Mater buildings, solved current issues with the apartment, plunged into the life of car enthusiasts, straightening the wheel disk in 5 minutes in the center of Girne 😉 And our trip to Karpas generally requires a separate post with photos and descriptions of emotions!
Even the difficulties and inconveniences that arise in such an environment seem insignificant and temporary.
I came to the main thing. The island! It is a fairy tale in all respects!!! Much and many have written about the beauty, the special flow of time. I want to note a certain island charm and mentality that is felt in everything – both in the communication of local residents and in the leisurely pace of the surrounding living beings (it seemed to me that even the rain and wind do their job with some laziness 😀)
It is the Island that encourages and forces us to live in a friendly, open and simple way.
I am grateful to the World for introducing me to this wonderful place.
